Till The Last Breath by Durjoy Datta – Book Summary
I, unfortunately, belong to the old generation of book lovers that are seen my many as staunch opponents of the current crop of rom-com bestselling authors that are well-known for their engineering/MBA/love-story-gone-sure/office tales.
While yes, there seems to be just too many engineer-turned-MBA authors for my liking these days and everytime I walk into a bookstore, I see 20 new books by 20 new such authors; the truth is that not all of them are bad if you know how to separate the wheat from the chaff!
One of those little “wheat pieces” seems to be Durjoy Datta; I managed to read his last book, If It’s Not Forever. It’s Not Love, and was pleasantly surprised to find that I really loved the book. And that’s when I begun following the author and found out that the author’s next book, Till the Last Breath by Durjoy Datta, was due for release soon.
This latest novel, Till the Last Breath by Durjoy Datta, seems to slightly divert from the author’s tried and tested successful formula of romantic “youth” based books and explores something much more emotionally draining – fatal illness and death. Of course, there’ll surely be love somewhere in between but mu guess is that Durjoy is keener on exploring the emotional quotient of his characters this time around.
From what I’ve learnt of this book, Till the Last Breath by Durjoy Datta, it seems to be a pretty good book and there’s a strong chance for this one to climb all the bestseller charts as well.

I’m sure most of you would have heard of Durjoy Datta but for those who’ve not, he is the author of six bestsellers so far and his books have sold over 1.2 million copies over the last three years. I also recently found out that Durjoy was the third highest selling Indian author in the year 2011.
One of the youngest and the most prolific authors in the Indian fiction scene, Durjoy’s works are characterized by dark humor and in-your-face realism and he is seen by most critics as one of the most unabashed writers in the genre. His latest book, Till the Last Breath by Durjoy Datta, is due for release soon.
